About Vivien

Vivien went to Jordanhill College School School in Glasgow, then to Edinburgh University to study German and History. She has been, amongst other things, a teacher, a translator, a librarian, a museum worker and an historical researcher.  She has travelled widely throughout Eastern Europe and to many of the former Soviet states.  A keen walker and historian, Vivien is a frequent visitor to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and has contributed articles to Scottish Islands Explorer and iScot magazines. She has two grown-up children and lives outside Glasgow. In addition, she makes picture frames and furniture out of driftwood – and plays the baritone ukulele!
